Why fly when you can drive? I am going on year two of avoiding flying whenever I can. After 15 years as a Road Warrior, I decided to become one in the truest sense. It was much easier to get into my car and drive my Northeastern territory, rather than drive an hour to the airport, arriving an hour or two early, fly an hour or two to my destination, rent a car (which takes another hour) blah blah blah. And if you are really lucky you are not stuck at JFK or BDL or EWR or PHL due to weather, or runway delays or broken planes. You don't have to sit next to strangers, you don't have to listen to super important businessmen on their cell phones before the plane takes off and the minute the plane lands, and you don't have to get knocked in the head by people who insist on bringing their lifes possessions on the airplane. Instead, I sit alone, enjoying my music, listen to Talk Radio, and enjoy the views. I always take the back roads, and marvel at the secret historic treasures that lurk in our beautiful countryside.
